Interior Mural Pricing
Two factors affect an artist's costs directly. Mural size and design complexity. Below I've separated general pricing by mural examples into three categories. Basic, advanced, and complex.
I offer ala carte pricing for additional treatments including 3D modeling, custom wall elements or sculpture for immersive murals, as well as special affects for realism.
Basic mural design.
$30.00 a square foot, plus materials cost. (Design determined)
A basic mural became even better with just a few choice additions using the established green color palette. Basic doesn't have to be basic, it just needs a simple group of colors, and theme that run throughout the piece. Click on the photo to see the better basic result.
A mural doesn't have to be the entire wall, but an area. I charge the square feet of the area painted.
Complex mural design.
$40.00 a square foot, plus materials cost. (Design determined)
The difference between basic and complex is the color palette as well as window, door, and design required to work around them. Complex offers perspective, life color, full wall coverage, and design compliment placement within egress structures. Click on the photo to see the left side section of this example mural.

Adanced mural design.
$50.00 square foot, plus materials cost. (Design determined)
The difference between complex and advanced is the color palette, subject depth, location (tight spaces, difficult areas to position in), and level of detail. Advanced offers perspective, focal depth, ceiling work, life color, granular detail, and full wall coverage.
This particular piece is a full wall in a small half-bath. The bathroom is equipped with ceiling lights that can be set to different light qualities, colors, and directions. The mural was painted to take advantage of any light choice taken. Depending on the selection, the mural becomes a new experience. We also took advantage of a bump out wall for affect. Ala Carte Services
Adding unique and surprising emboss 3D elements catches shadow and light no matter how your room is lighted. From sunrise, to sunset leading to lamp lights, your mural can come alive with smartly placed 3D areas.
Add $10 sq ft of the area embossed.
Special effects can include "feels like wood grain" to "looks like I'm looking through an aquarium glass".
Add $15 sq ft of the area treated.
I create painted fired polymer clay pieces to compliment murals. Realistic, fanciful, and whimsical. Size up to 24 inches X 20 inches.

Scales in Water - 14 inches by 6 inches: $300

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to begin the project. Remaining total due on mural completion.
